Environment/Community Award
This joint award is to recognise businesses that make a positive contribution to protecting or improving the environment as well as those that, through their commitment to the local area, can show that they have actively supported the community, schools, colleges, voluntary, community or charitable organisations or efforts. Businesses or individuals can enter for the Environment or the Community award or both. Community involvement will be measured on their specific participation and not purely on financial support. Environmental entries will be judged on what has been done to limit the environmental impact of the business, plus anything extra done to improve the local environment.
Award Criteria:
- Environment: Businesses must be able to show how they actively minimise their environmental impact e.g. through workplace travel plans, waste management and recycling initiatives. Businesses must also be able to demonstrate an active environmental policy, including green or local procurement or an environmental management system. In other words, provide us with evidence of your environmental credentials.
- Community: Businesses must be able to show how they have made a positive impact on the community. How was the community need identified and how did your company become involved?
How is your business involved and what is its role? How has the local community, e.g. a school, organisation, area, charity, service or club, benefited as a result?
Entries should consist of a maximum of 500 words explaining why your entry should be considered for this category, taking into the account the criteria above:
