PRISONERS facing court hearings in Huntingdon Law Courts have been moved to Peterborough and Cambridge - as it’s too cold for them in the cells.
For more than a week, cases involving people remanded in custody or in jail, had to be moved from the five-year-old building after the heating stopped working in the holding cells.
The re-direction of prisoners could continue into the coming weeks as there was said to be “no immediate fix” for the problem.
A Ministry of Justice spokesman said the heating system was fixed by Thursday (February 16) and was operational on Friday.
